Family Camp Out

Arriving notes

Date: Saturday June 8, 2024

Aim to arrive between noon and 1PM
We are in Rifleman Phillips Campground
- THERE IS A GATE WITH A LOCK ON OUR SITE
- If it is locked, jump out and walk into camp to get the gate unlocked
When you get there, we generally set up on the right side, using the first flat landing for our ‘base camp’ spot (tables, fire, canopies)
You will not have cell phone reception in the mountains
- Suggest downloading the route on Google Maps, you will loose connection before arrival!!

Snacks for you and your scout(s)
Bring your own drinks (e.g. coffee)
Tent(s) for you and/or family
- Parents may only tent with their own kids
- Boys can tent with boys within 2 years on their own
- Girls can tent with girls within 2 years on their own
Sleeping Bag(s)
Sleeping Pad(s) (a foam or cot, or inflatable)
A folding chair for every person.
RAIN GEAR
- There is a good chance it will rain.
All scouts should try to have 5 out of 6 cub scout essentials.
- Water Thermos
- Flashlight
- First Aid Kit
- Sunscreen
- Whistle

Eat lunch prior to coming
Quiet hours extend from 10-6
- If you wake up early please be quiet
$10 fee for every car paid at entrance - unless you have a Colorado Parks Pass
NO SNACKS IN TENTS!!!
- Wildlife loves to sniff things out, there are Bear Boxes for us to stow ANYTHING that has a smell!!
Warm clothing for the night.
- It will probably be chilly after the sun goes down, and when we wake up in morning! Make sure you and your scout(s) have a sweatshirt or warm jacket!
Bring sleeping necessities, toiletries
Bring at least one change of clothes
- You may want at least 2 in case the first gets wet!!
Friendly pets are welcome, but make sure they have a leash (so they don’t go chasing moose.)
